The author, former curator of Decorative Arts and Industrial Arts at the Art Institute of Chicago, has written this book to provide an overall picture of American decoration, and to give the layman and appreciation and understanding of the fine things that have been designed in our country. Many of the illustrations are actually from the Thorne Collection at Chicago’s Art Institute.
This copy has no dust jacket. It does, however, contain a lengthy letter dedicating this copy to one Fritz Rothbart, M.D. as well as an inscription in the book itself.
