s/t: Hope Through Poetry
In this book, you will find me. I wrote from the heart, extraordinary raw and passionate, so that people can get to know who am and see the world through my eyes. I’m a person. I’m giving you my life in my words. I was born handicapped, so I had different obstacles to conquer than others, but I decided not to let my crutches, when I was younger, or my wheelchair now, stop me. I had to put myself out there and let the world see who am. To make even more new friends and be an inspiration and helping others by sharing my thoughts, enjoy this book. It took a lot of time to write, so I hope it brings smiles and brightness to all that read it. – – ABOUT THE AUTHOR Lydia Brown, I am born and raised in Chicago. When she was younger, she had dreams of becoming a singer like her favorite artist Whitney Houston. She grew up in humble beginnings on the south side with her mom and dad, but tragically at the age of eleven, her father died of Leukemia, so her mom had to take care of her. They had their ups and downs and struggles, but they loved each other. Lydia reached point when she wanted to explore her life as a teenager, so she started running away to cope with her life issues and ran away to downtown Chicago. She began to like the area and slowly felt comfortable; this is where she indeed grew up second time and leaned to have love for herself. She found lots of people that cared about her and wanted the best for her. Her dreams were encouraged. Those people share a very close place in her heart, and she will always remember them because they were there for her when she needed help. She used to panhandle there and met people of all walks of life, willing to help her get off the streets and have hotel room at night to sleep in, where she would be safe. She started writing at 26. At first, Lydia wrote for fun, but then she found that it could be way to escape and relieve stress, so she started taking it more seriously and wrote more and saved her writings. Now in her forties, she wants to write her first book and tell her story, so please enjoy and thank you for choosing to read about my life through poetry
