Frances Hodgson Burnett
$22.00 SOLD
Very good condition textured blue boards with oval black-and-white front cover pastedown illustration, gold front cover decoration, and gold front cover and spine lettering. Includes a List of Illustrations and gilt upper page edges. Illustrated with black-and-white drawings on plates and black-and-white frontispiece plate drawing. This is a very scarce volume, moreso in a September 1901 First Edition. “The Making of a Marchioness follows thirty-something Emily who lives alone, humbly and happily, in a tiny apartment and on a meager income. She is the one that everyone counts on but no one goes out of their way to accommodate. This Cinderella-like story remains a much-loved favorite among many.”
