s/t: A Memoir of a Trip to Europe, 1971
Award winning author and poet, Susan Schubert shares her story. This is memoir of a trip I took to Europe in 1971 as a student hitchhiking through Great Britain, France, Germany, Holland, and Sweden with many stories to tell. As a woman alone, I tell it like it was with details of my loves and men I met. Living in London, with the family of a Welsh National poet, studying William Blake, learning about myself and looking for love in the age of peace and love, I used the journals that I wrote in every day to recreate my story. My trip lasted four 1/2 months, taking me to The Isle of Skye, the Aran islands., Mon San Michel , Paris, Amsterdam, the glaciers of Chamonix, climbing in the Black Forest , Munich for Oktoberfest. My descriptions of people and places are said to be impressionistic and full of detail. I painted those descriptions with my words so that I could remember each moment written. I am happy to share my experiences with you and hope that you have had experiences in your past that have been as life changing as mine. More stories to come, this is the tip of the iceberg!
