Waiting for the King of Spain
Diane Wakoski, signed by author
$20.00
Diane Wakoski, one of the most esteemed poets of America, is one of the last remain poets of the beat era. She is often identified as a “deep Image” poet, or a “confessional Poet”. This may well be, but her poems transcend any such pigeon-holing, and survive solely on their value as fine poetry. One of her best-known books is titled “Motorcycle Betrayal Poems”. “Waiting for the King of Spain” was originally published in 1976; presented here is the 1980 Third Printing, issued by Black Sparrow Press. It is a handsome trade paperback. The perceptive reader should be well-rewarded with the insights communicated by Diane Wakoski.
